Gate Automation

Gate Automation

Gate automation. It’s an added convenience, but also poses dangers if not installed with the correct safety features in place.

Chain link lock kit Chain link was first produced by machine in the United Kingdom back in 1844 by Barnard, Bishop & Barnard. Charles Barnard based the chain link pattern form from cloth weaving machines. In 1891, Anchor Post Fence Company bought the rights to this wire-weaving machine and began producing chain link material here in the United States.*

FenceTech 2016 A Success

FenceTech 2016 was held in Nashville, TN from Jan 13th to 15th. Although there was initial skepticism, we felt that it was one of the most well-attended shows in recent history. The show floor was busy all 3 days. All the major exhibitors were there including several new exhibitors.

The leading buzz during the show was the new UL325 standard for gate operators going into effect in January. In essence, it has to do with enhanced entrapment protection. Here is a short video from Liftmaster that explains it in further detail.

Season Of Tradeshow

After FenceTech, we exhibited at 2 other tradeshows.

MetalFAB is the annual convention and tradeshow organized by NOMMA. After several years it came back to the Northeast in Valley Forge, PA. This year the excitement and energy was far better than previous years which is a good sign for the entire industry. The show is headed to Greenville, SC for 2016. The venue will accommodate shop demonstrations so promises to be a larger show.
